Japanese actress Nakayama Miho has been found dead in her Tokyo home. She was 54.

Sources close to Nakayama Miho revealed that she was found unconscious in the bathtub of her Shibuya, Tokyo home. Emergency services were called upon her discovery, who confirmed her death at the scene.

The cause of death is under investigation, though it was revealed that neither a will nor drugs were found at the scene.

Nakayama Miho had been active on Instagram prior to her death. She was scheduled to perform in Osaka at the “Miho Nakayama Christmas Concert 2024 in Billboard Live.” The show was later canceled citing “poor health” as the reason.

Nakayama Miho rose to fame as a prolific actress and singer in 1985 during the JPOP boom of the 1980s and 90s. She became well known in South Korea for her role in the 1995 film “Love Letter.”

She also starred in the movies “Goodbye, Someday”, “I Have to Buy New Shoes”, and “Be-Bop High School”, among others.

Nakayama Miho was married in 2002 to writer and musician Tsuji Hitonari. The couple divorced after 12 years of marriage in 2014. She leaves behind a son, who is in the custody of her ex-husband.
