Dispatch reported on December 2nd that a NewJeans member’s uncle had aided Min Hee-jin in her search for external investment.

  • Amid the controversy surrounding Dispatch’s scathing article about Min Hee-jin, past reports shedding light on DAVOLINK and its connections to Min have been gaining traction in online communities.
  • According to a report originating from the Woman Economy Newspaper, NewJeans member Hyein’s paternal uncle “Lee XX” was among those listed to be nominated for DAVOLINK’s board.
  • A second nominee to DAVOLINK’s board “Park XX,” also named in Dispatch’s latest report, was understood to be the coordinator for NewJeans’ Japanese activities, according to the Woman Economy Newspaper.

According to a report by South Korean media outlet TVDaily, NewJeans member Hyein’s uncle had previously been notified for appointment to the board of directors of company “D.”

The original report, released on the 13th of November by the Woman Economy Newspaper, has recently gained traction in light of the details revealed in Dispatch’s latest article concerning Min Hee-jin.

At the time of the original article’s writing, speculation was swirling in investment circles that Min Hee-jin was seeking external investment from company “D.”

At the time, Min fiercely denied seeking any form of investment from any party.

According to the Woman Economy’s report, listed company “D,” now revealed to be DAVOLINK by Dispatch, had previously planned to register five names for nomination to its board, before suddenly removing the nominations following Min Hee-jin’s public denials.

The report further detailed that, “The list of nominees to the board released by DAVOLINK included the chairman of “H” company “Lee XX,” adding that , “‘Lee XX’ is widely known in the entertainment industry as the paternal uncle of NewJeans’ member Hyein (real name Lee Hyein).

One of those listed as a nominee to DAVOLINK’s board was “Park XX,” the coordinator of NewJeans’ Japanese activities. “Park XX” was also among those specifically named by DAVOLINK’s Chairman “A” in Dispatch’s report.

The list of names nominated to DAVOLINK’s board of directors is recorded in the Data Analysis, Retrieval and Transfer System run by the Financial Supervisory Service. According to the system, seven different names were nominated to the board following the removal of the original five.

According to DAVOLINK’s records, Lee XX is a graduate of Hanyang University and is currently the chairman of company “H.” Lee XX and Park XX were first nominated to DAVOLINK’s board on October 2nd. The extraordinary shareholders’ meeting where they were to be appointed to the board was scheduled for October 8th. Following the removal of their names, however, the shareholders’ meeting was delayed to the 20th and 26th of November.

At the time of Lee and Park’s nomination to DAVOLINK’s board, reports had circulated regarding Min connections to the company. Min had fiercely denied all speculation, calling them baseless rumors.

DAVOLINK removed Lee and Park’s names from the nominee list two days after Min’s public denial.

NewJeans too had denied all reports at the time, releasing in a statement that, “NewJeans, their family members and close friends have no connection to these rumors.”
