BTS Jungkook is as powerful as ever, despite currently serving in the military.
On the 30th of November at the Melon Music Awards 2024 (MMA 2024), Jungkook was named one of the winners of the “TOP 10” category. The award was one of three that he won that night, the other two being the awards for “BEST SOLO – MALE” and the “MILLIONS TOP 10.” This makes it the second consecutive year in which he has achieved the win in these categories, cementing his position as a not only a member of BTS, but as a solo artist as well.
Jungkook officially began his solo activities in July of 2023 with the release of his track “Seven” featuring Latto, later releasing his solo album “GOLDEN” in November of the same year. “GOLDEN,” which won the “MILLIONS TOP 10” award, went on to sell over 2.43 million copies in its first week of release, setting a new record for the highest first-week sales for a KPOP solo album. “GOLDEN” peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200 and remained on the charts for 24 consecutive weeks, again setting a record for the longest charting album by a KPOP solo artist.
Jungkook also won big at the MAMA Awards 2024, winning in the categories for “Best Male Artist“, “Best Dance Performance Male Solo“, and “Fans’ Choice Male Top 10.”
